The images to the left show a document discovered by my father, which his father had written. It confirms much of what I had discovered, but the two brothers who died in The East Indies and On Passage home from India were a puzzle. Not least because ‘Blessery’ did not seem to exist. After a lot of research and equiries I am now fairly sure that Blessery is actually Bellary, since John Kendalls death is recorded there: John Kendall, 38, Sgt 63rd Foot, buried Bellary 3.12.1845, cholera. Thanks to Donald Jaques for this information Read more about John, Thomas and James Kendall in The tale of 3 brothers. |
