Throughout the journey, I kept a journal.  I wrote in the evenings when I was usually very tired so in places it does not flow as it might.  The following pages contain some extracts from this journal and I hope that it gives a feeling for the spectacular scenery and the wonderfully hospitable country through which we were travelling.
